ABOUT

After ten years in failities managment in the tech sector in the PNW, and after enduring yet another merger, I took a sabatical to work on an unfinished art project: a graphic novel I had started in 1999 and had not finished. While I was working on art and living off my serverance package, the 2008 Financial Crisis and ensuing recession changed the workforce for many of my peers. One of then started a residential cleaning company and, because I had a car and was not working, she asked me to work for her one day a week to fulfill a vacancy in her schedule. Withing six months I was happily working full time, having discovered I loved the work and the service to others.

Five years later, I formed my own cleaning company as a sole-proptietor. I managed a dozen regular clients and explanded to add commerical clients. I had discovered that I was most suited this career – to be out in the field cleaning homes was a perfect combination of physical activity (almost a form of yoga) with satisfying my passion for logical problem solving, all while getting to see a completed task every day. I took great pride in thorough work and joy in the simple pleasure I brought to my clients: to have their homes reset to clean and organized every week.

Meanwhile, my parents had retired full time to SWFL, and had started to have agre-related health issues. I decided to move here 2019 to be near them to be a help as well as to enjoy these last years with them. So, I ended my company in Seattle. After arriving here, I returned to office work for property management firm specializing in local government. I spent seven years as a Client Services Manager and District Manager. However, I longed to be back in the industry I loved: cleaning homes.

This year, I retired from office work and have formed Epicurus Cleaning to support my physical, meantal, and financial health and to bring my passion to my clients in providing the simple pleasure of a clean home. WHAT YOU GET FROM EPICURUS CLEANING

In my career as a cleaner, I have seen that clients appreciate having only one person in their home – and that person is me. The same person invested in creating and mainting the company is also the same person invested in making the client, you, happy and satisfied. I will always be the only employee of EC, and the only person in your home.

Historically, I have used mostly unscented, natural cleaning agents like vinegar, citrus oil, and bleach, and a distilled water steam mop, as appropriate to each room’s materials. I can clean with my chemicals, or I can clean with yours. Likewise, I use a Dyson Hepa Filer vacuum, but many clients prefer that I use the one you keep in your home. I am open to my client’s requests.

My company is a registered Florida LLC, and I maintain $1 million/$2 million in liability insurance to protect my clients from accidents.

I am a genuine and trustworthy operator. If you hire me, you will get clean communications, and flexibility of scheduling. I only aks for the same when you hire me. If you wake up sick on the day of your cleaning, or have unscheduled conflicts, just let me know. I will do the same for you.

• estimates calculated hourly or by service
• checking in on your home when you are out of town (I am a year-round resident) ex. – installing and removing hurricane shutters
• some simple indoor handyman items that do not requre a contracting license
